Active Release Techniques® (ART)
ART® is a revolutionary soft tissue management system. With this system, an ART® provider will use their hands to evaluate texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves.
When the practitioner discovers abnormal (scar) tissue, they apply precisely directed tension while the patient moves in a very specific way. ART® is an active and empowering treatment in which patient and practitioner work together to achieve the desired results.
Classic Chiropractic
Classic chiropractic treatment involves the use of manipulation and adjustments. Practitioners apply a specific amount of force with the hand, in a precise direction, to free a locked joint.
Classic chiropractic techniques are used to treat back and neck pain as well as headaches, knee injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle sprains and plantar fasciitis and may be used in tandem with other therapies for optimal recovery results.

Joint and muscular discomfort
Neurological Conditions
Stress
Postural Imbalances
Pregnancy
Injuries (i.e. Sports and motor vehicle accidents)
Respiratory Conditions
Chronic pain syndromes (i.e. Fibromyalgia)

Some psychological benefits to massage are relief from stress, anxiety, depression, and an overall sense of well-being and body awareness due to positive touch.
All of our Massage Therapists are registered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and licensed under the Regulated Health Professions Act. They have comprehensive training in anatomy, remedial exercise, soft tissue manipulation, physiology, pathology, orthopedic assessment and hydrotherapy. Please ask our reception for any specialized treatments you require and you will be guided to the appropriate therapist.

Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a system of physical medicine utilizing a manual (hands on) approach to release strain, abnormal tension and restriction in the body. Osteopathy looks at the relationship between the structure (muscles, bones, connective tissue and nerves) and the body's function (organs, glands, fluids, energetic's). The body is viewed as a single harmonic unit for Osteopaths, and if the structure is mobile and balanced, the internal functioning will be healthy, including the mind and emotions. Osteopathy seeks to help the body's self-healing abilities to function at optimum performance by removing any blockages in systems to allow health to restore good function and balance.
A huge variety of health issues can be treated with Osteopathy and much of the work looks at preventative physical medicine, fine tuning for increased sports, training and athletic performance, as well as health concerns. Often an Osteopathic diagnosis will be a new way of viewing a dysfunction, with new treatment strategies for recovery and overall health.
Osteopathy seeks to address symptoms by looking at causation. It is not enough to "band-aid" a problem, the skill is to help the body change and adapt to causes-stressors in whatever form they take.

EMDR Trauma Re- Processing (NEW)
EMDR is a therapy first used for treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Although EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, it is not directly related to the eyes but to the facilitation of brain functioning. It is believed that EMDR's effectiveness is related to the restorative and re-processing properties of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep.
EMDR was quickly found to be useful in eliminating symptoms associated with stress and trauma, such as flashbacks, panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, anxiety and phobias.
Today, EMDR is widely used to eliminate symptoms of:
Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples
This highly effective relational therapy works with emotion to get at and understand a couple's negativity cycle of interaction. The negative cycle IS the problem in a relationship and there is no blaming of individual partners in EFT.
When the negativity cycle is understood and conflict deescalation occurs, then the therapist helps the couple to restructure positive patterns in the relationship, strengthen the bond and create a safe-haven of love, trust and connection.
