richard

Richard’s Osteopathy is best described as gentle general practice with a special interest in the treatment of pre and post natal health issues, babies and children, sports and training injuries, chronic pain, stress induced health problems and many more.

Osteopathy is a form of holistic physical medicine dating back to 1850’s. It respects the body’s self- healing mechanism and seeks to aid healing and recovery by applying detailed knowledge of the body with refined touch and gentle manual techniques.

Osteopathy is concerned with finding causation rather than just treating symptoms and it can help the body adapt to its stresses if cause is extrinsic to the body.  Osteopathy is concerned primarily with balanced mobility, all tissues are designed to move and if the body’s structure is balanced and mobile, so will be the function, including the mind and emotions.

Often an Osteopathic diagnosis will be a new way of viewing a dysfunction, with new treatment strategies for recovery and overall health.

Richard’s wider interests include, martial arts and eastern energy systems of medicine and healing, snowboarding, skateboarding and stretching, other interests that influence his work are literature, history, travel and meditation.

Osteopathy can help with a wide variety of problems including:

Pregnancy, infant and children’s health issues, Migraine and tension headache, Sinusitis pain, Acute trauma (accidents), Whiplash Injuries, Tennis Elbow / Arm pain, Jaw problems, Breathing problems, Digestive problems, Unresolved long-term pain, Arthritic pain, Specific shoulder, neck, back, disc, joint pain, Sciatica, Stress induced health problems
